And Absalom set Amasa over the host instead of Joab. Now Amasa was the son of a man, whose name was Ithra the Israelite, that went in to Abigal the daughter of Nahash, sister to Zeruiah, Joab's mother.

And Absalomª madeª° Amasaª captain¹ of the hostª instead¹ of Joab:ª which Amasaª [was] a man'sª son,ª whose nameª [was] Ithraª an Israelite,ª that¹ went¹ in²° to¹ Abigailª the daughterª of Nahash,ª sisterª to Zeruiahª Joab'sª mother.ª

And Absalomª madeª° Amasaª captaine¹ of the hosteª in stead¹ of Ioab:ª which Amasaª [was] a mansª sonneª whose nameª [was] Ithraª an Israelite,ª that¹ went¹ in²° to¹ Abigalª the daughterª of Nahash,ª sisterª to Zeruiahª Ioabsª mother.ª

And Absalom{gr.Abessalom} appointed Amasa{gr.Amessai} in the room of Joab over the host. And Amasa{gr.Amessai} was the son of a man whose name was Jether of Jezreel{gr.Jezrael}: he went in to Abigail{gr.Abigaia} the daughter of Nahash{gr.Naas}, the sister of Zeruiah{gr.Saruia} the mother of Joab.

And ´Avšälôm אַבשָׁלוֹםª madeª° `Ámäŝä´ עֲמָשָׂאª captain¹ of the hostª instead¹ of Yô´äv יוֹאָב:ª which `Ámäŝä´ עֲמָשָׂאª [was] a man'sª son,ª whose nameª [was] Yiŧrä´ יִתרָאª a Yiŝræ´ëlî יִשׂרְאֵלִי,ª that¹ went¹ in²° to¹ ´Áviqäyil אֲבִגָיִלª the daughterª of Näçäš נָחָשׁ,ª sisterª to Xærûyà צְרוּיָהª Yô´äv's יוֹאָבª mother.ª
