Now David had said, Surely in vain have I kept all that this fellow hath in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that pertained unto him: and he hath returned me evil for good.

Now Davidª had said,ª° Surely¹ in vainª have I keptª°¹ all¹ that¹ thisª [fellow] hath in the wilderness,ª so that nothingª¹ was missedª° of all¹¹ that¹ [pertained] unto him: and he hath requitedª° me evilª for¹ good.ª

(Now Dauidª had said,ª° Surely¹ in vaineª haue I keptª°¹ all¹ that¹ thisª fellow hath in the wildernesse,ª so that nothingª¹ was missedª° of all¹¹ that¹ pertained vnto him: and he hath requitedª° me euilª for¹ good.ª

And David said, Perhaps I have kept all his possessions in the wilderness that he should wrong me, and we did not order the taking anything of all his goods; yet he has rewarded me evil for good.
