Now there was a certain man of Ramathaim-zophim, of the hill-country of Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite:

Now there was¹ a certaineª manª of¹ Ramathaim Zophim,ª of mountª¹ Ephraim,ª & his nameª was Elkanah,ª the sonneª of Ieroham,ª the sonneª of Elihu,ª the sonneª of Tohu,ª the sonneª of Zuph,ª an Ephrathite;ª¹

There was a man of Armathaim Sipha, of mount Ephraim, and his name [was] Elkanah{gr.Helkana}, a son of Jerahmeel{gr.Jeremeel} the son of Elias the son of Thoke, in Nasib Ephraim.

Now there was¹ a certainª manª of¹ Rämäŧayim Xôfîm רָמָתַיִם־צוֹפִים,ª of mountª¹ ´Efrayim אֶפרַיִם,ª and his nameª [was] ´Elkänà אֶלקָנָה,ª the sonª of Yæröçäm יְרֹחָם,ª the sonª of ´Élîhû´ אֱלִיהוּא,ª the sonª of Töçû תֹּחוּ,ª the sonª of Xûf צוּף,ª an ´Efräŧî אֶפרָתִי:ª¹
