And Jehovah said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.

And the LORDª saidª° unto¹ Gideon,ª The peopleª that¹ [are] with¹ thee [are] too manyª for me to giveª°¹ the Midianitesª into their hands,ª lest¹ Israelª vaunt²° themselves¹ against¹ me, saying,ª° Mine own handª hath savedª° me.
