and said, By myself have I sworn, saith Jehovah, because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son,

And said,ª° By myself have I sworn,ª° saithª° the LORD,ª for¹ becauseªª thou hast doneª°¹ this¹ thing,ª and hast notª withheldª°¹ thy son,ª¹ thine onlyª [son]:

And said,ª° By my selfe haue I sworne,ª° saithª° the LORD,ª for¹ becauseªª thou hast doneª°¹ this¹ thing,ª and hast notª withheldª°¹ thy sonne,ª¹ thine onelyª sonne,

I have sworn by myself, says the Lord, because thou hast done this thing, and on my account hast not spared thy beloved son,
