Judges 12
1 The Ephraimites, quarrelling with Jephthah, and discerned by Shibboleth, are slain by the Gileadites. 7 Jephthah dieth. 8 Ibzan, who had thirty sons, and thirty daughters, 11 and Elon, 13 and Abdon, who had forty sons and thirty nephews, judge Israel.
12:1
Then the men 376 of Ephraim 669 were summoned 6817, and they crossed 5674a to Zaphon 6829 and said 559 to Jephthah 3316, “Why 4069 did you cross 5674a over 5674a to fight 3898a against the sons 1121 of Ammon 5983 without 3808 calling 7121 us to go 1980 with you? We will burn 8313 your house 1004 down on you.”
12:2
Jephthah 3316 said 559 to them, “I and my people 5971a were at great 3966 strife 7379 with the sons 1121 of Ammon 5983; when I called 2199 you, you did not deliver 3467 me from their hand 3027.
12:3
“When I saw 7200 that you would not deliver 3467 [me], I took 7760 my life 5315 in my hands 3709 and crossed 5674a over 5674a against 413 the sons 1121 of Ammon 5983, and the LORD 3068 gave 5414 them into my hand 3027. Why 4100 then have you come 5927 up to me this 2088 day 3117 to fight 3898a against me?”
12:4
Then Jephthah 3316 gathered 6908 all 3605 the men 376 of Gilead 1568 and fought 3898a Ephraim 669; and the men 376 of Gilead 1568 defeated 5221 Ephraim 669, because 3588 they said 559, “You are fugitives 6412a of Ephraim 669, O Gileadites 1568, in the midst 8432 of Ephraim 669 [and] in the midst 8432 of Manasseh 4519.”
12:5
The Gileadites 1568 captured 3920 the fords 4569b of the Jordan 3383 opposite Ephraim 669. And it happened 1961 when 3588 [any of] the fugitives 6412a of Ephraim 669 said 559, “Let me cross 5674a over 5674a,” the men 376 of Gilead 1568 would say 559 to him, “Are you an Ephraimite 673?” If he said 559, “No 3808,”
12:6
then they would say 559 to him, “Say 559 now 4994, ‘Shibboleth 7642b.’” But he said 559, “Sibboleth 5451,” for he could 3559 not pronounce 1696 it correctly 3651. Then they seized 270 him and slew 7819 him at the fords 4569b of the Jordan 3383. Thus there fell 5307 at that time 6256 42,000 705 8147 505 of Ephraim 669.

¶ Jephthah 3316 judged 8199 Israel 3478 six 8337a years 8141. Then Jephthah 3316 the Gileadite 1569 died 4191 and was buried 6912 in [one of] the cities 5892b of Gilead 1568.

¶ Now Ibzan 78 of Bethlehem 1035 judged 8199 Israel 3478 after 310 him.

He had 1961 thirty 7970 sons 1121, and thirty 7970 daughters 1323 [whom] he gave 7971 in marriage outside 2351 [the family], and he brought 935 in thirty 7970 daughters 1323 from outside 2351 for his sons 1121. And he judged 8199 Israel 3478 seven 7651 years 8141.
