יוֹאָשׁ°
king°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
two years°
before°
the earthquake.° |

The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Teqoa, which he saw concerning Yisrael in the days of Uzziyyah king of Yehudah, and in the days of Yorovam the son of Yoash king of Yisrael, two years before the earthquake. |

And he said,°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
will roar°°
from
Xiyyôn
צִיּוֹן,°°
and utter°°
his voice°
from
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם;°°
and the habitations°
of the shepherds°°
shall mourn,°°
and the top°
of
Carmel
כַּרמֶל°
shall wither.°° |

And he said, Yahweh will roar from Tziyyon, and utter his voice from Yerushalaim; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Karmel shall wither. |

For°
three°
transgressions°
of
Dammäŝek
דַּמָּשֶׂק,°
and for°
four,°
I will not°
turn away°°
[the punishment] thereof; because°
they have threshed°°°
Gil`äđ
גִּלעָד°
with threshing instruments°
of iron:° |

Thus saith Yahweh; For three transgressions of Dammaseq, and for four, I will not turn away [the punishment] thereof; because they have threshed Gilad with threshing instruments of iron: |

But I will send°°
a fire°
into the house°
of
Çázä´ël
חֲזָאֵל,°
which shall devour°°
the palaces°
of
Ben Háđađ
בֶּן־הֲדַד.° |

But I will send a fire into the house of Chazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-Hadad. |

I will break°°
also the bar°
of
Dammäŝek
דַּמָּשֶׂק,°
and cut off°°
the inhabitant°°
from the plain°°
of
´Äwen
אָוֶן,°
and him that holdeth°°
the sceptre°
from the house°
of
`Ëđen
עֵדֶן:°°°°
and the people°
of
´Áräm
אֲרָם°
shall go into captivity°°
unto
Kîr
קִיר,°
saith°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.° |

I will break also the bar of Dammaseq, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Awen, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Aram shall go into captivity unto Qir, saith Yahweh. |

I will not°
turn away°°
[the punishment] thereof; because°
they carried away captive°°
the whole°
captivity,°
to deliver [them] up°°

´Éđôm
אֱדוֹם:° |

Thus saith Yahweh; For three transgressions of Azzah, and for four, I will not turn away [the punishment] thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver [them] up to Edom: |

But I will send°°
a fire°
on the wall°
of
`Azzà
עַזָּה,°
which shall devour°°
the palaces°
thereof: |

But I will send a fire on the wall of Azzah, which shall devour the palaces thereof: |
|
1:8
And I will cut off°°
the inhabitant°°
from
´Ašdôđ
אַשׁדּוֹד,°°
and him that holdeth°°
the sceptre°
from
´Aškælôn
אַשׁקְלוֹן,°°
and I will turn°°
mine hand°
against°
`Ekrôn
עֶקרוֹן:°
and the remnant°
of the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים°
shall perish,°°
saith°°
´Áđönäy
אֲדֹנָי°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.° |

And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashqelon, and I will turn mine hand against Eqron: and the remnant of the Pelishtim shall perish, saith Adonay Yahweh. |

צוֹר,°

four,°
I will not°
turn away°°
[the punishment] thereof; because°
they delivered up°°
the whole°
captivity°
to
´Éđôm
אֱדוֹם,°
and remembered°°
not°
the brotherly°
covenant:° |

Thus saith Yahweh; For three transgressions of Tzor, and for four, I will not turn away [the punishment] thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant: |

But I will send°°
a fire°
on the wall°
of
Xôr
צוֹר,°
which shall devour°°
the palaces°
thereof. |

But I will send a fire on the wall of Tzor, which shall devour the palaces thereof. |

transgressions°

´Éđôm
אֱדוֹם,°
and for°

I will not°

[the punishment] thereof; because°
he did pursue°°
his brother°
with the sword,°
and did cast off°°
all pity,°
and his anger°
did tear°°
perpetually,°
and he kept°°
his wrath°
for ever:° |

Thus saith Yahweh; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away [the punishment] thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever: |

But I will send°°
a fire°
upon
Têmän
תֵּימָן,°
which shall devour°°
the palaces°
of
Boxrà
בָּצרָה.° |
|
1:12
But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Botzrah. |

1:13 ¶
Thus°
saith°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה;°
For°
three°
transgressions°
of the children°
of
`Ammôn
עַמּוֹן,°
and for°
four,°
I will not°
turn away°°
[the punishment] thereof; because°
they have ripped up°°
the women with child°
of
Gil`äđ
גִּלעָד,°
that°
they might enlarge°°°
their border:° |

Thus saith Yahweh; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away [the punishment] thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilad, that they might enlarge their border: |

But I will kindle°°
a fire°
in the wall°
of
Rabbà
רַבָּה,°
and it shall devour°°
the palaces°
thereof, with shouting°
in the day°
of battle,°
with a tempest°
in the day°
of the whirlwind:° |

But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind: |

And their king°
shall go°°
into captivity,°
he°
and his princes°
together,°
