 1:1 ¶ In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the firs [day] of the month, the word of the Lord came by the hand of the prophet Haggai{gr.Aggaeus}, saying, Speak to Zerubbabel{gr.Zorobabel} the son of Shealtiel{gr.Salathiel}, of the tribe of Judah{gr.Juda}, and to Jeshua{gr.Jesus} the son of Jozadak{gr.Josedec}, the high priest, saying,

 1:1 ¶ In the second° year° of Darius° the king,° in the sixth° month,° in the first° day° of the month,° came° the word° of Yahweh° by° Haggai° the prophet° unto° Zerubbabel° the son° of Shealtiel,° governor° of Judah,° and to° Joshua° the son° of Josedech,° the high° priest,° saying,°°

 1:2 Thus saith the Lord Almighty, saying, This people say, The time is not come to build the house of the Lord.

 1:2 Thus° speaketh°° Yahweh° Sabaoth,° saying,°° This° people° say,°° The time° is not° come,°° the time° that Yahweh's° house° should be built.°°

 1:3 And the word of the Lord came by the hand of the prophet Haggai{gr.Aggaeus}, saying,

 1:3 Then came° the word° of Yahweh° by° Haggai° the prophet,° saying,°°

 1:4 Is it time for you to dwell in your ceiled houses, whereas our house is desolate?

 1:4 [Is it] time° for you, O ye,° to dwell°° in your cieled°° houses,° and this° house° [lie] waste?°

 1:5 And now thus saith the Lord Almighty; Consider your ways, I pray you.

 1:5 Now° therefore thus° saith°° Yahweh° Sabaoth;° Consider°°°° your ways.°

 1:6 Ye have sown much, but brought in little; ye have eaten, and are not satisfied; ye have drunk, and are not satisfied with drink, ye have clothed yourselves, and have not become warm thereby: and he that earns wages has gathered [them] into a bag full of holes.

 1:6 Ye have sown°° much,°° and bring°° in° little;° ye eat,°° but ye have not enough;°°° ye drink,°° but ye are not filled with drink;°°° ye clothe°° you, but there is none warm;°°° and he that earneth wages°° earneth wages°° [to put it] into° a bag° with holes.°°

 1:7 ¶ Thus saith the Lord Almighty; Consider your ways.

 1:7 ¶ Thus° saith°° Yahweh° Sabaoth;° Consider°°°° your ways.°

 1:8 Go up to the mountain, and cut timber; build the house, and I will take pleasure in it, and be glorified, saith the Lord.

 1:8 Go up°° to the mountain,° and bring°° wood,° and build°° the house;° and I will take pleasure°° in it, and I will be glorified,°° saith°° Yahweh.°

 1:9 Ye looked for much, and there came little; and it was brought into the house, and I blew it away. Therefore thus saith the Lord Almighty, Because my house is desolate, and ye run everyone into his own house;

 1:9 Ye looked°° for° much,°° and, lo,° [it came] to little;° and when ye brought°° [it] home,° I did blow°° upon it. Why?°° saith°° Yahweh° Sabaoth.° Because° of mine house° that° [is] waste,° and ye° run°° every man° unto his own house.°

 1:10 therefore shall the sky withhold dew, and the earth shall keep back her produce.

 1:10 Therefore°° the heaven° over° you is stayed°° from dew,°° and the earth° is stayed°° [from] her fruit.°

 1:11 And I will bring a sword upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the wine, and upon the oil, and all that the earth produces, and upon the men, and upon the cattle, and upon all the labours of their hands.

 1:11 And I called°° for a drought° upon° the land,° and upon° the mountains,° and upon° the corn,° and upon° the new wine,° and upon° the oil,° and upon° [that] which° the ground° bringeth forth,°° and upon° men,° and upon° cattle,° and upon° all° the labour° of the hands.°

 1:12 ¶ And Zerubbabel{gr.Zorobabel} the son of Shealtiel{gr.Salathiel}, of the tribe of Judah{gr.Juda}, and Jeshua{gr.Jesus} the son of Jozadak{gr.Josedec}, the high priest, and all the remnant of the people, hearkened to the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of the prophet Haggai{gr.Aggaeus}, according as the Lord their God had sent him to them, and the people feared before the Lord.

 1:12 ¶ Then Zerubbabel° the son° of Shealtiel,° and Joshua° the son° of Josedech,° the high° priest,° with all° the remnant° of the people,° obeyed°° the voice° of Yahweh° their Elohim,° and the words° of Haggai° the prophet,° as° Yahweh° their Elohim° had sent°° him, and the people° did fear°° before°° Yahweh.°

 1:13 And Haggai{gr.Aggaeus} the Lord's messenger spoke among the messengers of the Lord to the people, [saying], I am with you, saith the Lord.

 1:13 Then spake°° Haggai° Yahweh's° messenger° in Yahweh's° message° unto the people,° saying,°° I° [am] with° you, saith°° Yahweh.°

 1:14 And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel{gr.Zorobabel} the son of Shealtiel{gr.Salathiel}, of the tribe of Judah{gr.Juda}, and the spirit of Jeshua{gr.Jesus} the son of Jozadak{gr.Josedec}, the high priest, and the spirit of the remnant of all the people; and they went in, and wrought in the house of the Lord Almighty their God,

 1:14 And Yahweh° stirred up°°° the spirit° of Zerubbabel° the son° of Shealtiel,° governor° of Judah,° and the spirit° of Joshua° the son° of Josedech,° the high° priest,° and the spirit° of all° the remnant° of the people;° and they came°° and did°° work° in the house° of Yahweh° Sabaoth,° their Elohim,°

 1:15 on the four and twentieth [day] of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
