I write unto you, fathers, because ye know him who is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the evil one. I have written unto you, little children, because ye know the Father.

I writeª° unto you,ª fathers,ª becauseª ye have knownª° him¹ [that is] fromª the beginning.ª I writeª° unto you,ª young men,ª becauseª ye have overcomeª° the¹ wicked one.ª I writeª° unto you,ª little children,ª becauseª ye have knownª° the¹ Father.ª

γράφω ὑμῖν, πατέρες, ὅτι ἐγνώκατε τὸν ἀπ' ἀρχῆς: γράφω ὑμῖν, νεανίσκοι, ὅτι νενικήκατε τὸν πονηρόν. ἔγραψα ὑμῖν, παιδία, ὅτι ἐγνώκατε τὸν πατέρα:

I-scribe unto-ye, Fathers, to-which-a-one ye-had-come-to-acquaint to-the-one off of-a-firsting; I-scribe unto-ye, Youthed-of, to-which-a-one ye-had-come-to-conquer-unto to-the-one to-en-necessitated. I-scribed unto-ye, Childlets, to-which-a-one ye-had-come-to-acquaint to-the-one to-a-Father;
