For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the last state is become worse with them than the first.

Forª ifª after they have escapedª° the¹ pollutionsª of the¹ worldª throughª the knowledgeª of the¹ Lordª andª Saviourª Jesusª Christ,ª they are²°¹ againª entangledª° therein,ª and²¹ overcome,ª²°° the¹ latter endª is¹ worseª with themª than the¹ beginning.ª

Forª ifª after they haue escapedª° the¹ pollutionsª of the¹ worldª throughª the knowledgeª of the¹ Lordª andª Sauiourª Iesusª Christ,ª they are²°¹ againeª intangledª° therein,ª [and]²¹ ouercome,ª²°° the¹ latter endª is¹ worseª with themª then the¹ beginning.ª

For if [when] they have escaped from the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jeshu Meshiha, with those very things entangled they are again over-come, their end becomes worse than the beginning.

For if, when they have escaped the pollutions of the world by the knowledge of our Lord and Redeemer Jesus the Messiah, they become again involved in the same, and are vanquished, their latter state is worse than the former.

εἰ γὰρ ἀποφυγόντες τὰ μιάσματα τοῦ κόσμου ἐν ἐπιγνώσει τοῦ κυρίου καὶ σωτῆρος Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ τούτοις δὲ πάλιν ἐμπλακέντες ἡττῶνται, γέγονεν αὐτοῖς τὰ ἔσχατα χείρονα τῶν πρώτων.

If therefore having-had-fled-off to-the-ones to-stainings-to of-the-one of-a-configuration in unto-an-acquainting-upon of-the-one of-Authority-belonged and of-a-Savior of-an-Iesous of-Anointed, unto-the-ones-these moreover unto-furthered having-had-been-twined-in they-more-inferior-unto, it-hath-had-come-to-become unto-them the-ones most-bordered more-disrupted of-the-ones of-most-before.
