If any man thinketh himself to be religious, while he bridleth not his tongue but deceiveth his heart, this man's religion is vain.

If any manª amongª youª seemª° to beª° religious,ª and bridlethª° notª his²¹ tongue,ª butª deceivethª° his own²¹ heart,ª this man'sª religionª [is] vain.ª

If any manª amongª youª seemeª° to beª° religious,ª & bridlethª° notª his²¹ tongue,ª butª deceiuethª° his owne²¹ heart,ª this mansª religionª is vaine.ª

And if a man thinketh that he serveth Aloha, and holdeth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, of this man his service is vain.

And if any one thinketh that he worshippeth God, and doth not restrain his tongue, but his heart deceiveth him; his worship is vain.

Εἴ τις δοκεῖ θρησκὸς εἶναι μὴ χαλιναγωγῶν γλῶσσαν ἑαυτοῦ ἀλλὰ ἀπατῶν καρδίαν ἑαυτοῦ, τούτου μάταιος ἡ θρησκεία.
