for they could not endure that which was enjoined, If even a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned;

(Forª they could²° notª endureª° that which was commanded,ª° And if so much asª a beastª touchª° the¹ mountain,ª it shall be stoned,ª° or² thrust throughª° with a dart:ª

For they could not endure that which was commanded. For if an animal should approach to the mountain, it was to be stoned:

for they could not endure what was commanded. And even a beast, if it approached the mountain, was to be stoned.

οὐκ ἔφερον γὰρ τὸ διαστελλόμενον Κἂν θηρίον θίγῃ τοῦ ὄρους, λιθοβοληθήσεται:

not they-were-bearing therefore to-the-one to-being-set-through, And-ever a-beastlet it-might-have-had-broached of-the-one of-a-jut it-shall-be-stone-casted-unto;
