And they indeed have been made priests many in number, because that by death they are hindered from continuing:

There were (moreover) many [high] priests, because they were dying, and were not permitted to remain.

And they as priests were numerous, because they were mortal, and were not permitted to continue:

Καὶ οἱ μὲν πλείονές εἰσιν γεγονότες ἱερεῖς διὰ τὸ θανάτῳ κωλύεσθαι παραμένειν:

And the-ones indeed more-beyond they-be having-hath-had-come-to-become sacreders-of through to-the-one unto-a-death to-be-prevented to-stay-beside;
