For if I should desire to glory, I shall not be foolish; for I shall speak the truth: but I forbear, lest any man should account of me above that which he seeth me [to be], or heareth from me.

Forª thoughª I would desireª° to glory,ª° I shall²° notª beª° a fool;ª forª I will sayª° the truth:ª butª [now] I forbear,ª° lestª any manª should thinkª° ofª meª aboveª that¹ which² he seethª° meª [to be], orª [that] he hearethª°¹ ofª² me.ª

Yet if I were disposed to glory, I should not be without reason; for I declare the truth. But I refrain, lest any one should think of me, beyond what he seeth in me and heareth from me.

ἐὰν γὰρ θελήσω καυχήσασθαι, οὐκ ἔσομαι ἄφρων, ἀλήθειαν γὰρ ἐρῶ: φείδομαι δέ, μή τις εἰς ἐμὲ λογίσηται ὑπὲρ ὃ βλέπει με ἢ ἀκούει ἐξ ἐμοῦ,

If-ever therefore I-might-have-determined to-have-boasted-unto, not I-shall-be un-centered-of, to-an-un-secluding-of therefore I-shall-utter; I-spare moreover lest a-one into to-ME it-might-have-fortheed-to over to-which it-vieweth to-me or it-heareth out of-ME,
