Did then that which is good become death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, by working death to me through that which is good; -- that through the commandment sin might become exceeding sinful.

Was thenª that which is goodª madeª° deathª unto me?ª God forbid.ªª° Butª sin,ª thatª it might appearª° sin,ª workingª° deathª in meª byª that which is good;ª thatª sinª byª the¹ commandmentª might becomeª° exceedingªª sinful.ª

Was that thenª which is good,ª madeª° deathª vnto me?ª God forbid.ªª° Butª sinne,ª thatª it might appeareª° sinne,ª workingª° deathª in meeª byª that which is good:ª thatª sinneª byª the¹ Commaundementª might becomeª° exceedingªª sinfull.ª

The good, then, unto me, unto death was made? Not so. But sin, that it might be seen what sin is, by the good (law) effected death in me, that sin might be the more condemned by the commandment.

Did that which is good, therefore, become death to me? Far be it. But sin, that it might be seen to be sin, perfected death in me by means of that good [law]; that sin might the more be condemned, by means of the commandment.

Τὸ οὖν ἀγαθὸν ἐμοὶ ἐγένετο θάνατος; μὴ γένοιτο: ἀλλὰ ἡ ἁμαρτία, ἵνα φανῇ ἁμαρτία διὰ τοῦ ἀγαθοῦ μοι κατεργαζομένη θάνατον: ἵνα γένηται καθ' ὑπερβολὴν ἁμαρτωλὸς ἡ ἁμαρτία διὰ τῆς ἐντολῆς.

The-one accordingly good unto-ME it-had-became a-death?
