For the woman that hath a husband is bound by law to the husband while he liveth; but if the husband die, she is discharged from the law of the husband.

Forª the¹ womanª which hath an husbandª is boundª° by the lawª to [her] husbandª so long as he liveth;ª° butª ifª the¹ husbandª be dead,ª° she is loosedª° fromª the¹ lawª of [her] husband.ª

Forª the¹ womanª which hath an husbaud,ª is boundª° by the lawª to her husband,ª so long as he liueth:ª° butª ifª the¹ husbandª be dead,ª° she is loosedª° fromª the¹ lawª of the husband.ª

as a woman who is bound in law to her husband as long as he liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is freed from the law of her husband.

Just as a woman, by the law, is bound to her husband, as long as he is alive: but if her husband should die, she is freed from the law of her husband.

ἡ γὰρ ὕπανδρος γυνὴ τῷ ζῶντι ἀνδρὶ δέδεται νόμῳ: ἐὰν δὲ ἀποθάνῃ ὁ ἀνήρ, κατήργηται ἀπὸ τοῦ νόμου τοῦ ἀνδρός.
