And casting off the anchors, they left them in the sea, at the same time loosing the bands of the rudders; and hoisting up the foresail to the wind, they made for the beach.

Andª when they had taken up²°¹ the¹ anchors,ª they committedª° [themselves] untoª the¹ sea,ª andª loosedª° the¹ rudderª bands,ª andª hoised upª° the¹ mainsailª to the¹ wind,ª° and madeª° towardª shore.ª
