and ye have not known him: but I know him; and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be like unto you, a liar: but I know him, and keep his word.

Yetª ye have²° notª knownª° him;ª butª I² knowª° him:ª andª ifª I should say,ª°² I¹ knowª° himª not,ª I shall beª° a liarª like² unto¹ you:ª butª I knowª° him,ª andª keepª° hisª saying.ª

But you know him not; but I know him: and should I say that I know him not, I should be a liar like you. But I know him, and keep his words.

καὶ οὐκ ἐγνώκατε αὐτόν, ἐγὼ δὲ οἶδα αὐτόν: κἂν εἴπω ὅτι οὐκ οἶδα αὐτόν, ἔσομαι ὅμοιος ὑμῖν ψεύστης: ἀλλὰ οἶδα αὐτὸν καὶ τὸν λόγον αὐτοῦ τηρῶ.

and not ye-had-come-to-acquaint to-it, I moreover I-had-come-to-see to-it; and-ever I-might-have-had-said to-which-a-one not I-had-come-to-see to-it, I-shall-be along-belonged unto-ye a-falsifier, other I-had-come-to-see to-it and to-the-one to-a-forthee of-it I-keep-unto.
