For as thou art going with thine adversary before the magistrate, on the way give diligence to be quit of him; lest haply he drag thee unto the judge, and the judge shall deliver thee to the officer, and the officer shall cast thee into prison.

¹ Whenª² thou goestª° withª thineª adversaryª toª the magistrate,ª [as thou art] inª the¹ way,ª giveª° diligenceª that thou mayest be deliveredª° fromª him;ª lestª he haleª° theeª toª the¹ judge,ª andª the¹ judgeª deliverª° theeª to the¹ officer,ª andª the¹ officerª castª° theeª intoª prison.ª

When thou art going with thine adversary to the magistrate, while in the way, negotiate, and be freed from him; lest he bring thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the exactor, and the exactor cast thee into the house of the bound;

And when thou goest with thy adversary to the ruler, while on the way, make effort to be released by him; lest he bring thee to the judge and the judge deliver thee to the exactor, and the exactor cast thee into prison.

ὡς γὰρ ὑπάγεις μετὰ τοῦ ἀντιδίκου σου ἐπ' ἄρχοντα, ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ δὸς ἐργασίαν ἀπηλλάχθαι [ἀπ'] αὐτοῦ, μή ποτε κατασύρῃ σε πρὸς τὸν κριτήν, καὶ ὁ κριτής σε παραδώσει τῷ πράκτορι, καὶ ὁ πράκτωρ σε βαλεῖ εἰς φυλακήν.

As therefore thou-lead-under with of-the-one of-ever-a-one-coursed of-thee upon to-a-firsting in unto-the-one unto-a-way, thou-should-have-had-given to-a-working-unto to-have-had-come-to-be-othered-off [off] of-it, lest whither-also it-might-have-dragged-down to-thee toward to-the-one to-a-separater, and the-one a-separater to-thee it-shall-give-beside unto-the-one unto-a-practitioner, and the-one a-practitioner to-thee it-shall-cast into to-a-guarding.
