The unclean spirit when he is gone out of the man, passeth through waterless places, seeking rest, and finding none, he saith, I will turn back unto my house whence I came out.

Whenª the¹ uncleanª spiritª is goneª° out ofª a man,ª he walkethª° throughª dryª places,ª seekingª° rest;ª andª findingª° none,ª he saith,ª° I will returnª° untoª myª houseª whenceª I came out.ª°

The unclean spirit, when he hath gone out from a son of man, goeth about through regions which have no waters in them, because he seeketh to him rest. And when he cannot find it he saith, I will return to my house from whence I went out.

An unclean spirit, when he goeth out of a man, goeth wandering in places where no water is, in order to find rest; and, as he cannot find [it] he saith: I will return to my habitation, from which I came.

Ὅταν τὸ ἀκάθαρτον πνεῦμα ἐξέλθῃ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου, διέρχεται δι' ἀνύδρων τόπων ζητοῦν ἀνάπαυσιν, καὶ μὴ εὑρίσκον [τότε] λέγει Ὑποστρέψω εἰς τὸν οἷκόν μου ὅθεν ἐξῆλθον:

Which-also-ever the-one un-cleansable a-currenting-to it-might-have-had-came-out off of-the-one of-a-mankind, it-cometh-through through of-un-watered of-occasions seeking-unto to-a-ceasing-up, and lest finding, [to-the-one-which-also] it-fortheth, I-shall-beturn-under into to-the-one to-a-house of-me which-from I-had-came-out;
