and they have no root in themselves, but endure for a while; then, when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, straightway they stumble.

καὶ οὐκ ἔχουσιν ῥίζαν ἐν ἑαυτοῖς ἀλλὰ πρόσκαιροί εἰσιν, εἶτα γενομένης θλίψεως ἢ διωγμοῦ διὰ τὸν λόγον εὐθὺς σκανδαλίζονται.

and not they-hold to-a-root in unto-selves, other timed-toward they-be; if-to-the-ones of-having-had-became of-a-pressing or of-a-pursuing-of through to-the-one to-a-forthee straight they-be-cumbered-to.
