And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one question, which if ye tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things.

Andª Jesusª answeredª° and saidª° unto them,ª I alsoª will askª° youª oneª thing,ª whichª ifª ye tellª° me,ª I in like wiseª will tellª° youª byª whatª authorityª I doª° these things.ª

Jeshu answered and said to them, I will also ask you one word; and if you will tell me, I will also tell you by what authority I do these (things).

ἀποκριθεὶς [δὲ] ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Ἐρωτήσω ὑμᾶς κἀγὼ λόγον ἕνα, ὃν ἐὰν εἴπητέ μοι κἀγὼ ὑμῖν ἐρῶ ἐν ποίᾳ ἐξουσίᾳ ταῦτα ποιῶ:

Having-been-separated-off [moreover] the-one an-Iesous it-had-said unto-them, I-shall-entreat-unto to-ye and-I to-a-forthee to-one to-which if-ever ye-might-have-had-said unto-me and-I unto-ye I-shall-utter in unto-whither-belonged unto-a-being-out-unto to-the-ones-these I-do-unto;
