Therefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the Lord: Wailing shall be in all the broad ways; and they shall say in all the streets, Alas! Alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful in lamentation to wailing.

Therefore¹ the LORD,ª the Godª of hosts,ª the Lord,ª saithª° thus;¹ Wailingª [shall be] in all¹ streets;ª and they shall sayª° in all¹ the highways,ª Alas!ª alas!ª and they shall callª° the husbandmanª to¹ mourning,ª and such as are skilfulª° of lamentationª to¹ wailing.ª

Therefore thus saith the Lord God Almighty; In all the streets [shall be] lamentations; and in all the ways shall it be said, Woe, woe! the husbandman shall be called to mourning and lamentation, and to them that are skilled in complaining.

Therefore¹ Yähwè יָהוֶה,ª the ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםª Xævä´ôŧ צְבָאוֹת,ª Yähwè יָהוֶה,ª saithª° thus;¹ Wailingª [shall be] in all¹ streets;ª and they shall sayª° in all¹ the highways,ª Alas!ª alas!ª and they shall callª° the husbandmanª to¹ mourning,ª and such as are skilfulª° of lamentationª to¹ wailing.ª
