So Ebed-melech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence rags and worn-out garments, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.

So Ebedmelechª tookª°¹ the men²¹ with¹ him,² and went²° into¹ the houseª of the kingª under¹¹ the treasury,ª and tookª° thence¹¹ oldª cast cloutsª and oldª rotten rags,ª and let them downª° by cordsª into¹ the dungeonª to¹ Jeremiah.ª

So Abdemelech took the men and went into the underground [part of the] king's house, and took thence old rags and old ropes, and threw them to Jeremiah{gr.Jeremias} into the dungeon.
