Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai's matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew.

[Thus] they spoke daily to him, but he hearkened not unto them; so they represented to Haman{gr.Aman} that Mordecai{gr.Mardochaeus} resisted the commands of the king: and Mordecai{gr.Mardochaeus} had shewn to them that he was a Jew.

Now it came to pass,¹ when they spakeª° dailyª unto¹ him, and he hearkenedª° not¹ unto¹ them, that they toldª° Hämän הָמָן,ª to seeª° whether Mordóȼay's מָרדֳּכַיª mattersª would stand:ª° for¹ he had toldª° them that¹ he¹ [was] a Yæhûđî יְהוּדִי.ª
