Now while Ezra prayed and made confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there was gathered together unto him out of Israel a very great assembly of men and women and children; for the people wept very sore.

Now when Ezraª had prayed,ª° and when he had confessed,ª° weepingª° and casting himself downª° beforeª the houseª of God,ª there assembledª° unto¹ him out of Israelª¹ a veryª greatª congregationª of men²¹ and womenª and children:ª for¹ the peopleª weptª° very²° sore.ª¹
