And there were gathered unto him worthless men, base fellows, that strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tender-hearted, and could not withstand them.

And there are gatheredª° unto¹ him vainª men,²¹ the childrenª of Belial,ª and have strengthened²° themselves¹ against¹ Rehoboamª the sonª of Solomon,ª when Rehoboamª was¹ youngª and tenderhearted,ªª and could not¹ withstandª°¹ them.²

And there are gatheredª° vnto¹ him vaineª men²¹ the childrenª of Belial,ª and haue strengthened²° themselues¹ against¹ Rehoboamª the sonneª of Solomon,ª when Rehoboamª was¹ young,ª & tender hearted,ªª and could not¹ withstandª°¹ them.²

and there are gathered to him pestilent men, transgressors, and he has risen up against Rehoboam{gr.Roboam} the [son] of Solomon, while Rehoboam{gr.Roboam} was young and fearful in heart, and he withstood him not.

And there are gatheredª° unto¹ him vainª men,²¹ the childrenª of Bæliyya`al בְּלִיַּעַל,ª and have strengthened²° themselves¹ against¹ Ræçav`äm רְחַבעָםª the sonª of Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹה,ª when Ræçav`äm רְחַבעָםª was¹ youngª and tenderhearted,ªª and could not¹ withstandª°¹ them.²
