Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold; and he said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

Whereupon the kingª took counsel,ª° and madeª° twoª calvesª [of] gold,ª and saidª° unto¹ them, It is too muchª for you to go upª°¹ to Jerusalem:ª behold¹ thy gods,ª O Israel,ª which¹ brought¹ thee up²° out of the landª¹ of Egypt.ª

Whereupon the kingª tooke counsell,ª° and madeª° twoª caluesª of gold,ª and saidª° vnto¹ them, It is too muchª for you to goe vpª°¹ to Ierusalem:ª Behold¹ thy gods,ª O Israel,ª which¹ brought¹ thee vp²° out of the landª¹ of Egypt.ª

And the king took counsel, and went, and made two golden heifers, and said to the people, Let it suffice you to have gone [hitherto] to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, who brought thee up out of the land of Mizraim{gr.Egypt}.
