Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die, because he hath broken down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the Asherah that was by it.

Then the men²¹ of the cityª saidª° unto¹ Joash,ª Bring outª°¹ thy son,ª that he may die:ª° because¹ he hath cast downª°¹ the altarª of Baal,ª and because¹ he hath cut downª° the groveª that¹ [was] by¹ it.

Then the men²¹ of the citieª saidª° vnto¹ Ioash,ª Bring outª°¹ thy sonne,ª that he may die:ª° because¹ he hath cast downeª°¹ the altarª of Baal,ª and because¹ hee hath cut downeª° the groueª that¹ [was] by¹ it.

And the men of the city said to Joash{gr.Joas}, Bring out thy son, and let him die, because he has destroyed the altar of Baal, and because he has destroyed the grove that is by it.

Then the men²¹ of the cityª saidª° unto¹ Yô´äš יוֹאָשׁ,ª Bring outª°¹ thy son,ª that he may die:ª° because¹ he hath cast downª°¹ the altarª of Bä`al בָּעַל,ª and because¹ he hath cut downª° the groveª that¹ [was] by¹ it.
