And Joshua charged them with an oath at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before Jehovah, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: with the loss of his first-born shall he lay the foundation thereof, and with the loss of his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.

And Joshuaª adjuredª° [them] at that¹ time,ª saying,ª° Cursedª° [be] the manª beforeª the LORD,ª that¹ riseth upª° and buildethª°¹ this¹ cityª¹ Jericho:ª he shall lay the foundationª° thereof in his firstborn,ª and in his youngestª [son] shall he set upª° the gatesª of it.

And Ioshuaª adiuredª° [them] at that¹ time,ª saying,ª° Cursedª° be the manª beforeª the LORD,ª that¹ riseth vpª° and buildethª°¹ this¹ cityª¹ Iericho:ª he shall lay the foundationª° therof in his first borne,ª and in his yongestª [sonne] shall hee set vpª° the gatesª of it.

And Joshua{gr.Jesus} adjured [them] on that day before the Lord, saying, Cursed [be] the man who shall build that city: he shall lay the foundation of it in his first-born, and he shall set up the gates of it in his youngest son. And so did Hozan of Bethel{gr.Baethel}; he laid the foundation in Abiram{gr.Abiron} his first-born, and set up the gates of it in his youngest surviving son.
