And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came upon him.

And Bil`äm בִּלעָםª lifted upª°¹ his eyes,ª and he sawª°¹ Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלª abidingª° [in his tents] according to their tribes;ª and the spiritª of ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםª came¹ upon¹ him.
