And the man, the lord of the land, said unto us, Hereby shall I know that ye are true men: leave one of your brethren with me, and take [grain for] the famine of your houses, and go your way;

And the manª the lordª of the countreyª saidª° vnto¹ vs, Hereby¹ shall I knowª° that¹ ye¹ are trueª men: leaue²°¹ oneª of your brethrenª here with¹ me, and takeª° [foode] for the famineª of your housholds,ª and be gone.²°¹

And the man, the lord of the land, said to us, Herein shall I know that ye are peaceable; leave one brother here with me, and having taken the corn ye have purchased for your family, depart.
