"Yea, they turned backª ° and temptedª ° God,ª and limitedª ° the Holy Oneª of Israel.ª" {Psa 78:41} + "And the childrenª of Israelª dweltª ° amongª the Canaanites,ª Hittites,ª and Amorites,ª and Perizzites,ª and Hivites,ª and Jebusites:ª ... And the childrenª of Israelª didª °¹ evilª in the sightª of the LORD,ª and forgatª °¹ the LORDª their God,ª and servedª °¹ Baalimª and the groves.ª" {Jdg 3:5-7} + "And the childrenª of Israelª didª ° evilª againª ° in the sightª of the LORD:ª and the LORDª strengthenedª °¹ Eglonª the kingª of Moabª against¹ Israel,ª because¹ ¹ they had doneª °¹ evilª in the sightª of the LORD.ª" {Jdg 3:12} + "Therefore,¹ sonª of man,ª speakª ° unto¹ the houseª of Israel,ª and sayª ° unto¹ them, Thus¹ saithª ° the Lordª GOD;ª Yet¹ in this¹ your fathersª have blasphemedª ° me, in that they have committedª ° a trespassª against me. ... they were:
"And might not¹ be¹ as their fathers,ª a stubbornª ° and rebelliousª ° generation;ª a generationª [that] set² ° not their heart² aright,ª °¹ ¹ and whose spiritª was not¹ stedfastª ° with¹ God.ª" {Psa 78:8} + "They keptª ° not¹ the covenantª of God,ª and refusedª ° to walk² °¹ in his law;ª ... For their heartª was not rightª °¹ with¹ him, neither¹ were they stedfastª ° in his covenant.ª" {Psa 78:10-37} + "They return,ª ° [but] not¹ to the most High:ª they are¹ like a deceitfulª bow:ª their princesª shall fallª ° by the swordª for the rageª ¹ of their tongue:ª thisª [shall be] their derisionª in the landª of Egypt.ª" {Hsa 7:16}
