1 God's judgment on the wicked, 2 and his blessing on the good. 4 He exhorteth to the study of the Law, 5 and telleth of Elijah's coming and office.

4:1 ¶ For, x3588 behold, x2009 the day 3117 cometh, 935 z8802 that shall burn 1197 z8802 as an oven; 8574 and all x3605 the proud, 2086 yea, and all x3605 that do 6213 z8802 wickedly, 7564 shall be x1961 stubble: 7179 and the day 3117 that cometh 935 z8802 shall burn them up, 3857 z8765 x853 saith 559 z8804 Yahweh 3068 Sabaoth, 6635 that x834 it shall leave 5800 z8799 them neither x3808 root 8328 nor branch. 6057

4:2 ¶ But unto you that fear 3373 my name 8034 shall the Sun 8121 of righteousness 6666 arise 2224 z8804 with healing 4832 in his wings; 3671 and ye shall go forth, 3318 z8804 and grow up 6335 z8804 as calves 5695 of the stall. 4770

4:3 And ye shall tread down 6072 z8804 the wicked; 7563 for x3588 they shall be x1961 ashes 665 under x8478 the soles 3709 of your feet 7272 in the day 3117 that x834 I x589 shall do 6213 z8802 [this], saith 559 z8804 Yahweh 3068 Sabaoth. 6635

4:4 ¶ Remember 2142 z8798 ye the law 8451 of Moses 4872 my servant, 5650 which x834 I commanded y6680 z8765 unto x6680 him in Horeb 2722 for x5921 all x3605 Israel, 3478 [with] the statutes 2706 and judgments. 4941

4:5 ¶ Behold, x2009 I x595 will send 7971 z8802 you x853 Elijah 452 the prophet 5030 before 6440 the coming 935 z8800 of the great 1419 and dreadful 3372 z8737 day 3117 of Yahweh: 3068

4:6 And he shall turn 7725 z8689 the heart 3820 of the fathers 1 to x5921 the children, 1121 and the heart 3820 of the children 1121 to x5921 their fathers, 1 lest x6435 I come 935 z8799 and smite 5221 z8689 x853 the earth 776 with a curse. 2764
