Genesis 15

1 God encourageth Abram. 2 Abram complaineth for want of an heir. 4 God promiseth him a son, and a multiplying of his seed. 6 Abram is justified by faith. 7 Canaan is promised again, and confirmed by a sign, 12 and a vision.

 15:1 ¶ After 310 these x428 things 1697 the word 1697 of Yahweh 3068 came 1961 z8804 unto x413 Abram 87 in a vision, 4236 saying, 559 z8800 Fear 3372 z8799 not, x408 Abram: 87 I x595 [am] thy shield, 4043 [and] thy exceeding 3966 great 7235 z8687 reward. 7939

 15:2 And Abram 87 said, 559 z8799 Adonai 136 Yahweh, 3069 what x4100 wilt thou give 5414 z8799 me, seeing I x595 go 1980 z8802 childless, 6185 and the steward 1121 4943 of my house 1004 [is] this 1931 Eliezer 461 of Damascus? 1834

 15:3 And Abram 87 said, 559 z8799 Behold, x2005 to me thou hast given 5414 z8804 no 3808 seed: 2233 and, lo, x2009 one born 1121 in my house 1004 is mine heir. 3423 z8802

 15:4 And, behold, x2009 the word 1697 of Yahweh 3068 [came] unto x413 him, saying, 559 z8800 This x2088 shall not x3808 be thine heir; 3423 z8799 but x3588 x518 he that x834 shall come forth 3318 z8799 out of thine own bowels 4578 x4480 shall be thine heir. 3423 z8799

 15:5 And he brought him forth 3318 z8686 x853 abroad, 2351 and said, 559 z8799 Look 5027 z8685 now x4994 toward heaven, 8064 and tell 5608 z8798 the stars, 3556 if x518 thou be able 3201 z8799 to number 5608 z8800 them: and he said 559 z8799 unto him, So 3541 shall thy seed 2233 be. x1961

 15:6 And he believed 539 z8689 in Yahweh; 3068 and he counted 2803 z8799 it to him for righteousness. 6666

 15:7 And he said 559 z8799 unto x413 him, I x589 [am] Yahweh 3068 that x834 brought x3318 thee out y3318 z8689 of Ur 218 x4480 of the Chaldees, 3778 to give 5414 z8800 thee x853 this x2063 land 776 to inherit 3423 z8800 it.

 15:8 And he said, 559 z8799 Adonai 136 Yahweh, 3069 whereby 4100 shall I know 3045 z8799 that x3588 I shall inherit x3423 it? y3423 z8799

 15:9 And he said 559 z8799 unto x413 him, Take 3947 z8798 me an heifer 5697 of three years old, 8027 z8794 and a she goat 5795 of three years old, 8027 z8794 and a ram 352 of three years old, 8027 z8794 and a turtledove, 8449 and a young pigeon. 1469

 15:10 And he took 3947 z8799 unto him x853 all x3605 these, x428 and divided 1334 z8762 them in the midst, 8432 and laid 5414 z8799 each 376 piece 1335 one against 7125 z8800 another: 7453 but the birds 6833 divided 1334 z8804 he not. x3808

 15:13 And he said 559 z8799 unto Abram, 87 Know y3045 z8799 of a surety 3045 z8800 that x3588 thy seed 2233 shall be x1961 a stranger 1616 in a land 776 [that is] not x3808 theirs, and shall serve 5647 z8804 them; and they shall afflict 6031 z8765 them four 702 hundred 3967 years; 8141

 15:14 And also x1571 x853 that nation, 1471 whom x834 they shall serve, 5647 z8799 will I x595 judge: 1777 z8802 and afterward 310 3651 shall they come out 3318 z8799 with great 1419 substance. 7399

 15:15 And thou x859 shalt go 935 z8799 to x413 thy fathers 1 in peace; 7965 thou shalt be buried 6912 z8735 in a good 2896 old age. 7872

 15:16 But in the fourth 7243 generation 1755 they shall come hither y2008 again: 7725 z8799 x2008 for x3588 the iniquity 5771 of the Amorites 567 [is] not x3808 yet 2008 x5704 full. 8003

 15:17 And it came to pass, x1961 that, when the sun 8121 went down, 935 z8804 and it was x1961 dark, 5939 behold x2009 a smoking 6227 furnace, 8574 and a burning 784 lamp 3940 that x834 passed 5674 z8804 between 996 those x428 pieces. 1506

 15:20 And the Hittites, 2850 and the Perizzites, 6522 and the Rephaims, 7497

 15:21 And the Amorites, 567 and the Canaanites, 3669 and the Girgashites, 1622 and the Jebusites. 2983
