Ecclesiastes 1

1 The preacher sheweth that all human courses are vain: 4 because the creatures are restless in their courses, 9 they bring forth nothing new, and all old things are forgotten, 12 and because he hath found it so in the studies of wisdom.

 1:1 ¶ The words 1697 of the Preacher, 6953 the son 1121 of David, 1732 king 4428 in Jerusalem. 3389

 1:4 [One] generation 1755 passeth away, 1980 z8802 and [another] generation 1755 cometh: 935 z8802 z8676 z8804 but the earth 776 abideth 5975 z8802 for ever. 5769

 1:9 The thing x4100 that hath been, x7945 x1961 it x1931 [is that] which shall be; x7945 x1961 and that x4100 which is done 6213 z8738 x7945 [is] that x1931 which shall be done: 6213 z8735 x7945 and [there is] no x369 x3605 new 2319 [thing] under x8478 the sun. 8121

 1:10 Is there 3426 [any] thing 1697 whereof it may be said, 559 z8799 x7945 See, 7200 z8798 this x2088 [is] new? 2319 it x1931 hath been x1961 already 3528 of old time, 5769 which x834 was x1961 before 6440 x4480 us.

 1:11 [There is] no x369 remembrance 2146 of former 7223 [things]; neither x1571 x3808 shall there be x1961 [any] remembrance 2146 of [things] that are to come y314 x7945 x1961 with x5973 [those] that shall come x7945 x1961 after. 314

 1:14 I have seen 7200 z8804 x853 all x3605 the works 4639 that are done 6213 z8738 x7945 under x8478 the sun; 8121 and, behold, x2009 all x3605 [is] vanity 1892 and vexation 7469 of spirit. 7307

 1:15 [That which is] crooked 5791 z8794 cannot 3201 z8799 x3808 be made straight: 8626 z8800 and that which is wanting 2642 cannot 3201 z8799 x3808 be numbered. 4487 z8736

 1:16 I x589 communed 1696 z8765 with x5973 mine own heart, 3820 saying, 559 z8800 Lo, x2009 I x589 am come to great estate, 1431 z8689 and have gotten y3254 z8689 more x3254 wisdom 2451 than x5921 all x3605 [they] that x834 have been x1961 before 6440 me in x5921 Jerusalem: 3389 yea, my heart 3820 had great 7235 z8687 experience 7200 z8804 of wisdom 2451 and knowledge. 1847

 1:17 And I gave 5414 z8799 my heart 3820 to know 3045 z8800 wisdom, 2451 and to know 3045 z8800 madness 1947 and folly: 5531 I perceived 3045 z8804 that this y1571 x2088 also x7945 x1571 is vexation 7475 of spirit. 7307
