1 Samuel 19

1 Jonathan discloseth his father's purpose to kill David. 4 He persuadeth his father to reconciliation. 8 By reason of David's good success in a new war, Saul's malicious rage breaketh out against him. 12 Michal deceiveth her father with an image in David's bed. 18 David cometh to Samuel in Naioth. 20 Saul's messengers sent to take David, 23 and Saul himself, prophesy.

 19:1 ¶ And Saul 7586 spake 1696 z8762 to x413 Jonathan y3129 x3083 his son, 1121 and to x413 all x3605 his servants, 5650 that they should kill 4191 z8687 x853 David. 1732

 19:2 But Jonathan 3083 Saul's 7586 son 1121 delighted 2654 z8804 much 3966 in David: 1732 and Jonathan 3083 told 5046 z8686 David, 1732 saying, 559 z8800 Saul 7586 my father 1 seeketh 1245 z8764 to kill 4191 z8687 thee: now x6258 therefore, I pray thee, x4994 take heed y8104 z8734 to thyself x8104 until the morning, 1242 and abide 3427 z8804 in a secret 5643 [place], and hide y2244 z8738 thyself: x2244

 19:3 And I x589 will go out 3318 z8799 and stand 5975 z8804 beside 3027 my father 1 in the field 7704 where x834 x8033 thou x859 [art], and I x589 will commune 1696 z8762 with x413 my father 1 of thee; and what 4100 I see, 7200 z8804 that I will tell 5046 z8689 thee.

 19:4 ¶ And Jonathan 3083 spake 1696 z8762 good 2896 of David 1732 unto x413 Saul 7586 his father, 1 and said 559 z8799 unto x413 him, Let not x408 the king 4428 sin 2398 z8799 against his servant, 5650 against David; 1732 because x3588 he hath not x3808 sinned 2398 z8804 against thee, and because x3588 his works 4639 [have been] to thee-ward very 3966 good: 2896

 19:5 For he did put 7760 z8799 x853 his life 5315 in his hand, 3709 and slew 5221 z8686 x853 the Philistine, 6430 and Yahweh 3068 wrought 6213 z8799 a great 1419 salvation 8668 for all x3605 Israel: 3478 thou sawest 7200 z8804 [it], and didst rejoice: 8055 z8799 wherefore x4100 then wilt thou sin 2398 z8799 against innocent 5355 blood, 1818 to slay 4191 z8687 x853 David 1732 without a cause? 2600

 19:6 And Saul 7586 hearkened 8085 z8799 unto the voice 6963 of Jonathan: 3083 and Saul 7586 sware, 7650 z8735 [As] Yahweh 3068 liveth, 2416 he shall not 518 be slain. 4191 z8714

 19:7 And Jonathan 3083 called 7121 z8799 David, 1732 and Jonathan 3083 shewed 5046 z8686 him x853 all x3605 those x428 things. 1697 And Jonathan 3083 brought 935 z8686 x853 David 1732 to x413 Saul, 7586 and he was x1961 in his presence, 6440 as in times past. 865 8032

 19:8 ¶ And there was x1961 war 4421 again: 3254 z8686 and David 1732 went out, 3318 z8799 and fought 3898 z8735 with the Philistines, 6430 and slew 5221 z8686 them with a great 1419 slaughter; 4347 and they fled 5127 z8799 from 6440 x4480 him.

 19:9 And the evil 7451 spirit 7307 from Yahweh 3068 was x1961 upon x413 Saul, 7586 as he x1931 sat 3427 z8802 in his house 1004 with his javelin 2595 in his hand: 3027 and David 1732 played 5059 z8764 with [his] hand. 3027

 19:10 And Saul 7586 sought 1245 z8762 to smite 5221 z8687 David 1732 even to the wall 7023 with the javelin; 2595 but he slipped away 6362 z8799 out of Saul's y7586 presence, 6440 x4480 x7586 and he smote 5221 z8686 x853 the javelin 2595 into the wall: 7023 and David 1732 fled, 5127 z8804 and escaped 4422 z8735 that x1931 night. 3915

 19:11 Saul 7586 also sent 7971 z8799 messengers 4397 unto x413 David's 1732 house, 1004 to watch 8104 z8800 him, and to slay 4191 z8687 him in the morning: 1242 and Michal 4324 David's 1732 wife 802 told 5046 z8686 him, saying, 559 z8800 If x518 thou save 4422 z8764 not x369 x853 thy life 5315 to night, 3915 to morrow 4279 thou x859 shalt be slain. 4191 z8716

 19:12 ¶ So Michal 4324 let y3381 z0 David y1732 down 3381 z8686 x853 x1732 through x1157 a window: 2474 and he went, y3212 z8799 x1980 and fled, 1272 z8799 and escaped. 4422 z8735

 19:13 And Michal 4324 took 3947 z8799 x853 an image, 8655 and laid 7760 z8799 [it] in x413 the bed, 4296 and put 7760 z8804 a pillow 3523 of goats' 5795 [hair] for his bolster, 4763 and covered 3680 z8762 [it] with a cloth. 899

 19:14 And when Saul 7586 sent 7971 z8799 messengers 4397 to take 3947 z8800 x853 David, 1732 she said, 559 z8799 He x1931 [is] sick. 2470 z8802

 19:15 And Saul 7586 sent 7971 z8799 x853 the messengers 4397 [again] to see 7200 z8800 x853 David, 1732 saying, 559 z8800 Bring him up 5927 z8685 x853 to x413 me in the bed, 4296 that I may slay 4191 z8687 him.

 19:16 And when the messengers 4397 were come in, 935 z8799 behold, x2009 [there was] an image 8655 in x413 the bed, 4296 with a pillow 3523 of goats' 5795 [hair] for his bolster. 4763

 19:17 And Saul 7586 said 559 z8799 unto x413 Michal, 4324 Why x4100 hast thou deceived x7411 me so, y7411 z8765 x3602 and sent away 7971 z8762 x853 mine enemy, 341 z8802 that he is escaped? 4422 z8735 And Michal 4324 answered 559 z8799 x413 Saul, 7586 He x1931 said 559 z8804 unto x413 me, Let me go; 7971 z8761 why x4100 should I kill 4191 z8686 thee?

 19:18 ¶ So David 1732 fled, 1272 z8804 and escaped, 4422 z8735 and came 935 z8799 to x413 Samuel 8050 to Ramah, 7414 and told 5046 z8686 him x853 all x3605 that x834 Saul 7586 had done 6213 z8804 to him. And he x1931 and Samuel 8050 went y3212 z8799 x1980 and dwelt 3427 z8799 in Naioth. 5121

 19:19 And it was told 5046 z8714 Saul, 7586 saying, 559 z8800 Behold, x2009 David 1732 [is] at Naioth 5121 in Ramah. 7414

 19:20 And Saul 7586 sent 7971 z8799 messengers 4397 to take 3947 z8800 x853 David: 1732 and when they saw 7200 z8799 x853 the company 3862 of the prophets 5030 prophesying, 5012 z8737 and Samuel 8050 standing 5975 z8802 [as] appointed 5324 z8737 over x5921 them, the Spirit 7307 of Elohim 430 was x1961 upon x5921 the messengers 4397 of Saul, 7586 and they x1992 also x1571 prophesied. 5012 z8691

 19:21 And when it was told 5046 z8686 Saul, 7586 he sent 7971 z8799 other 312 messengers, 4397 and they x1992 prophesied 5012 z8691 likewise. x1571 And Saul 7586 sent 7971 z8799 messengers 4397 again 3254 z8686 the third 7992 time, and they x1992 prophesied 5012 z8691 also. x1571

 19:22 Then went y3212 z8799 x1980 he x1931 also x1571 to Ramah, 7414 and came 935 z8799 to x5704 a great 1419 well 953 that x834 [is] in Sechu: 7906 and he asked 7592 z8799 and said, 559 z8799 Where 375 [are] Samuel 8050 and David? 1732 And [one] said, 559 z8799 Behold, x2009 [they be] at Naioth 5121 in Ramah. 7414

 19:23 And he went y3212 z8799 x1980 thither x8033 to x413 Naioth 5121 in Ramah: 7414 and the Spirit 7307 of Elohim 430 was x1961 upon x5921 him x1931 also, x1571 and he went y3212 z8799 on, 1980 z8800 and prophesied, 5012 z8691 until x5704 he came 935 z8800 to Naioth 5121 in Ramah. 7414

 19:24 And he x1931 stripped off 6584 z8799 his clothes 899 also, 1571 and prophesied 5012 z8691 before 6440 Samuel 8050 in like manner, x1571 and lay down 5307 z8799 naked 6174 all x3605 that x1931 day 3117 and all x3605 that night. 3915 Wherefore x5921 x3651 they say, 559 z8799 [Is] Saul 7586 also x1571 among the prophets? 5030
