3:1 ¶
IF, then, you have risen with the Meshiha, seek (the realities) which are on high, where the Meshiha sitteth at the right hand of Aloha. |
|
3:1
If then ye have risen with the Messiah, seek the things on high, where the Messiah sitteth on the right hand of God. |
3:2
Think of that which is on high, and not of that on earth. |
|
3:2
Think of things on high; not of the things on earth: |
3:3
For you are dead, and your life is hid with the Meshiha in Aloha; |
|
3:3
for ye are dead; and your life is hidden with the Messiah, in God. |
3:4
and when the Meshiha, who is our life, shall be manifested, then also will you be manifested with him in glory. |
|
3:4
And when the Messiah, who is our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also be manifested with him in glory. |
3:5
Put to death, then, your members that are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, and passions, and evil desires, and covetousness, which itself is idolatry. |
|
3:5
Mortify therefore your members that are on the earth; whoredom, impurity, and the passions, and evil concupiscence, and avarice which is idolatry. |
3:6
For on account of these cometh the anger of Aloha upon the sons of disobedience. |
|
3:6
For on account of these [things], the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience. |
3:7
In these also you walked aforetime, when you were conversant in them. |
|
3:7
And in these [things] ye also formerly walked, when ye lived in them. |
3:8
But now cease you from all these; anger, wrath, malice, reviling, impure speech: |
|
3:8
But now, put away from you all these, wrath, anger, malice, reviling, filthy talking: |
3:9
and lie not one to another, but put off the old man with all his manners, |
|
3:9
and lie not one to another; but put off the old man, with all his practices; |
3:10
and wear the new, who is renovated by knowledge in the image of his Creator, |
|
3:10
and put ye on the new [man], that is renewed in knowledge, after the likeness of his Creator; |
3:11
where there is not Jihudoya and Aramoya, nor circumcision and uncircumcision, nor Javanoya and Barbaroya, nor slave and freeman, but the Meshiha is all and in all. |
|
3:11
where there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision, neither Greek nor barbarian, neither bond nor free; but the Messiah is all, and in all. |
3:12
Wear, therefore, as the chosen of Aloha, saints and beloved, compassions and tenderness, and benignity, and lowliness of mind, and composure, and patience. |
|
3:12
Therefore, holy and beloved, as the elect of God, put ye on compassions, and tenderness, and suavity, and humbleness of mind, and gentleness, and long suffering. |
3:13
And bear with one another, and forgive one another, if any man have a complaint against his neighbour; even as the Meshiha hath forgiven you, so also forgive; |
|
3:13
And be ye indulgent towards one another, and forgiving to one another: and if any one has a complaint against his neighbor, as the Messiah forgave you, so also do ye forgive. |
3:14
and with all these charity, which is the girdle of perfection. |
|
3:14
And with all these, [join] love, which is the girdle of perfection. |
3:15
And let the peace of the Meshiha direct your hearts, for to it you have been called in one body; and give thanks to the Meshiha, |
|
3:15
And let the peace of the Messiah direct your hearts; for to that ye have been called, in one body; and be ye thankful to the Messiah. |
3:16
whose word shall dwell in you abundantly, in all wisdom. And teach and admonish yourselves in psalms and in hymns and in songs of the Spirit, and with grace sing with your hearts unto Aloha. |
|
3:16
And let his word dwell in you richly, in all wisdom. And teach and admonish yourselves, by psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, and with grace in your hearts sing ye unto God. |
3:17
And whatsoever you do, either in word or work, do (it) in the name of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha, and with thanksgiving through him unto Aloha the Father. |
|
3:17
And whatever ye do in word or act, do it in the name of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, and give thanksgiving through him to God the Father. |
3:18 ¶
WIVES, be subject to your husbands, as it is right in the Meshiha. |
|
3:18
Wives, be ye subject to your husbands, as is right in the Messiah. |
3:19
Men, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. |
|
3:19
Husbands, love ye your wives, and be not bitter towards them. |
3:20
Children, obey your parents in every thing, for so it is pleasing before our Lord. |
|
3:20
Children, obey your parents in every thing; for this is pleasing before our Lord. |
3:21
Fathers, exasperate not your children, that they be not discouraged. |
|
3:21
Parents, anger not your children, lest they be discouraged. |
3:22
Servants, obey in every thing your masters according to the flesh, not in the sight of the eye (only), as those who please men, but from a simple heart, and in the fear of the Lord. |
|
3:22
Servants, obey in all things your bodily masters; not in the sight of the eye only, as those who please men, but with a simple heart, and in the fear of the Lord. |
3:23
And all that you do, from all your heart do (it), as to our Lord, and not as to men. |
|
3:23
And whatever ye do, do it with your whole soul, as unto our Lord, and not as to men: |
3:24
And know that from our Lord you receive the reward in the inheritance; for the Lord the Meshiha you serve. |
|
3:24
and know ye, that from our Lord ye will receive a recompense as the inheritance; for ye serve the Lord the Messiah. |
3:25
But he who injureth is recompensed as he had injured, and there is no acceptance of persons. |
|
3:25
But the delinquent will receive a recompense, according to the delinquency; and there is no respect of persons. |
