 1:1 ¶ That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we beheld, and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life

 1:1 ¶ That whichº wasºº fromº the beginning,º whichº we have heard,ºº whichº we have seenºº with ourº eyes,º whichº we have looked upon,ºº andº ourº handsº have handled,ºº ofº theº Wordº of life;º

 1:2 (and the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare unto you the life, the eternal [life], which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us);

 1:2 (Forº theº lifeº was manifested,ºº andº we have seenºº [it], andº bear witness,ºº andº shewºº unto youº that eternalº life,º whichº wasºº withº theº Father,º andº was manifestedºº unto us;)º

 1:3 that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you also, that ye also may have fellowship with us: yea, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ:

 1:3 That whichº we have seenºº andº heardºº declareº weºº unto you,º thatº yeº alsoº may haveºº fellowshipº withº us:º andº trulyº ourº fellowshipºº [is] withº theº Father,º andº withº hisºº Sonº Jesusº Christ.º

 1:4 and these things we write, that our joy may be made full.

 1:4 Andº these thingsº writeº weºº unto you,º thatº yourº joyº may beºº full.ºº

 1:5 And this is the message which we have heard from him and announce unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

 1:5 Thisº thenº isºº theº messageº whichº we have heardºº ofº him,º andº declareºº unto you,º thatº Godº isºº light,º andº inº himº isºº noº darknessº at all.º

 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

 1:6 Ifº we sayºº thatº we haveºº fellowshipº withº him,º andº walkºº inº darkness,º we lie,ºº andº doºº notº theº truth:º

 1:7 but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

 1:7 Butº ifº we walkºº inº theº light,º asº heº isºº inº theº light,º we haveºº fellowshipº one with another,ºº andº theº bloodº of Jesusº Christº hisº Sonº cleansethºº usº fromº allº sin.º

 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

 1:8 Ifº we sayºº thatº we haveºº noº sin,º we deceiveºº ourselves,º andº theº truthº isºº notº inº us.º

 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

 1:9 Ifº we confessºº ourº sins,º he isºº faithfulº andº justº toº forgiveºº usº [our] sins,º andº to cleanseºº usº fromº allº unrighteousness.º

 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

 1:10 Ifº we sayºº thatº we haveºº notº sinned,ºº we makeºº himº a liar,º andº hisºº wordº isºº notº inº us.º
