Tetrarch:
A tetrarch, τετραρχης [Strong's G5076], from τετρας [Strong's G5069], four, and αρχη [Strong's G0746], government, properly signifies a prince, or ruler over a quarter of any region; and had its origin from Galatia, which was governed by four princes. In the New Testament, however, it denotes a prince, or king, who reigns over the fourth part of a former kingdom. By Herod's will his kingdom was thus divided among his sons: Archelaus had one-half, consisting of Idumea, Judea, and Samaria; Herod Antipas, one-fourth, consisting of Galilee and Perea; and Philip the remaining fourth, consisting of Batanea, Trachonitis, and Auranitis.
he:
"Andª there shall beª° signsª inª the sun,ª andª in the moon,ª andª in the stars;ª andª uponª the¹ earthª distressª of nations,ª withª perplexity;ª the seaª andª the wavesª roaring;ª°" {Lke 21:25} + "For¹ [it is] a dayª of trouble,ª and of treading down,ª and of perplexityª by the Lordª GODª of hostsª in the valleyª of vision,ª breaking²° down¹ the walls,ª and of cryingª to¹ the mountains.ª" {Isa 22:5} + "The bestª of them [is] as a brier:ª the most uprightª [is sharper] than a thorn hedge:ª¹ the dayª of thy watchmenª° [and] thy visitationª cometh;ª° now¹ shall be¹ their perplexity.ª" {Mic 7:4}
