For I will gatherª°¹ all¹ nationsª against¹ Jerusalemª to battle;ª and the cityª shall be taken,ª° and the housesª rifled,ª° and the womenª ravished;ª°²° and halfª of the cityª shall go forthª° into captivity,ª and the residueª of the peopleª shall not¹ be cut offª° from¹ the city.ª" {Zch 14:1-2}); the subversion of the Roman empire, after being the executioners of the Divine vengeance on the Jews, by God's stirring up the barbarous nations to invade them ("Then shall the LORDª go forth,ª° and fight²° against¹ those¹ nations,ª as whenª he foughtª° in the dayª of battle.ª" {Zch 14:3}); the effusion of Divine knowledge from Jerusalem, by the promulgation of the Gospel ("And his feetª shall standª° in that¹ dayª upon¹ the mountª of Olives,ª which¹ [is] beforeª¹ Jerusalemª on the east,ª¹ and the mountª of Olivesª shall cleaveª° in the midstª¹ thereof toward the eastª and toward the west,ª [and there shall be] a veryª greatª valley;ª and halfª of the mountainª shall removeª° toward the north,ª and halfª of it toward the south.ª ... And the LORDª shall be¹ kingª over¹ all¹ the earth:ª in that¹ dayª shall there be¹ oneª LORD,ª and his nameª one.ª" {Zch 14:4-9}); the rebuilding and replenishing of Jerusalem ("All¹ the landª shall be turnedª° as a plainª from Gebaª¹ to Rimmonª southª of Jerusalem:ª and it shall be lifted up,ª° and inhabitedª° in her place,¹ from Benjamin'sª gateª¹ unto¹ the placeª of the firstª gate,ª unto¹ the cornerª gate,ª and [from] the towerª of Hananeelª unto¹ the king'sª winepresses.ª ... And [men] shall dwellª° in it, and there shall be¹ no¹ more¹ utter destruction;ª but Jerusalemª shall be safelyª inhabited.ª°" {Zch 14:10-11}); the destruction of the nations who shall fight against her ("And this¹ shall be¹ the plagueª wherewith¹ the LORDª will smiteª°¹ all¹ the peopleª that¹ have foughtª° against¹ Jerusalem;ª Their fleshª shall consume awayª° while they¹ standª° upon their feet,ª¹ and their eyesª shall consume awayª° in their holes,ª and their tongueª shall consume awayª° in their mouth.ª ... And so¹ shall be¹ the plagueª of the horse,ª of the mule,ª of the camel,ª and of the ass,ª and of all¹ the beastsª that¹ shall be¹ in theseª tents,ª as this¹ plague.ª" {Zch 14:12-15}); the conversion of the remnant of those nations to the Lord ("And it shall come to pass,¹ [that] every one¹ that is leftª° of all¹¹ the nationsª which cameª° against¹ Jerusalemª shall even go upª° fromª¹ yearª to yearª to worshipª° the King,ª the LORDª of hosts,ª and to keepª°¹ the feastª of tabernacles.ª ... This¹ shall be¹ the punishmentª of Egypt,ª and the punishmentª of all¹ nationsª that¹ come not upª°¹ to keepª°¹ the feastª of tabernacles.ª" {Zch 14:16-19}); and the peace and purity of the universal church in the latter days ("In that¹ dayª shall there be¹ upon¹ the bellsª of the horses,ª HOLINESSª UNTO THE LORD;ª and the potsª in the LORD'Sª houseª shall be¹ like the bowlsª beforeª the altar.ª ... Yea, every¹ potª in Jerusalemª and in Judahª shall be¹ holinessª unto the LORDª of hosts:ª and all¹ they that sacrificeª° shall comeª° and takeª° of¹ them, and seetheª° therein: and in that¹ dayª there shall be¹ no¹ more¹ the Canaaniteª in the houseª of the LORDª of hosts.ª" {Zch 14:20-21}).
