Amos:
"Moreover the wordª of the LORDª came¹ unto¹ me, saying,ª ° Jeremiah,ª what¹ seestª ° thou?¹ And I said,ª ° I¹ seeª ° a rodª of an almond tree.ª ... a plumbline:
This was an emblem of strict justice; and intimated that God would now visit them according to their iniquities.

I will set:
"The LORDª hath purposedª ° to destroyª ° the wallª of the daughterª of Zion:ª he hath stretched outª ° a line,ª he hath not¹ withdrawnª ° his handª from destroying:ª °¹ therefore he made the rampartª and the wallª to lament;ª ° they languishedª ° together.ª" {Lam 2:8}

I will not:
"And he said,ª ° Amos,ª what¹ seestª ° thou?¹ And I said,ª ° A basketª of summer fruit.ª Then saidª ° the LORDª unto¹ me, The endª is comeª ° upon¹ my peopleª of Israel;ª I will not¹ againª ° pass² ° by¹ them any more.¹" {Ams 8:2} + "Thou¹ hast forsakenª ° me, saithª ° the LORD,ª thou art gone² °¹ backward:ª therefore will I stretch outª °¹ my handª against¹ thee, and destroyª ° thee; I am wearyª ° with repenting.ª °" {Jer 15:6} + "Also, thou¹ sonª of man,ª thus¹ saithª ° the Lordª GODª unto the landª of Israel;ª An end,ª the endª is comeª ° upon¹ the fourª cornersª of the land.ª ...
