"The inhabitantsª of Samariaª shall fearª ° because of the calvesª of Bethaven:ª for¹ the peopleª thereof shall mournª ° over¹ it, and the priestsª thereof [that] rejoicedª ° on¹ it, for¹ the gloryª thereof, because¹ it is departedª ° from¹ it." {Hsa 10:5} + "And the high placesª of Isaacª shall be desolate,ª ° and the sanctuariesª of Israelª shall be laid waste;ª ° and I will riseª ° against¹ the houseª of Jeroboamª with the sword.ª ... Therefore¹ thus¹ saithª ° the LORD;ª Thy wifeª shall be an harlotª ° in the city,ª and thy sonsª and thy daughtersª shall fallª ° by the sword,ª and thy landª shall be dividedª ° by line;ª and thou¹ shalt dieª ° inª a pollutedª land:ª and Israelª shall surely² ° go into captivityª ° forth of¹ ¹ his land.ª" {Ams 7:9-17}

Heb. the evil of your evil, "Was thenª that which is goodª madeª ° deathª unto me?ª God forbid.ª ª ° Butª sin,ª thatª it might appearª ° sin,ª workingª ° deathª in meª byª that which is good;ª thatª sinª byª the¹ commandmentª might becomeª ° exceedingª ª sinful.ª" {Rom 7:13}
