- Daniel had understanding:
- or, he made Daniel understand, "O Belteshazzar,ª masterª of the magicians,ª because¹ Iª knowª° that¹ the spiritª of the holyª godsª [is] in thee, and noªª secretª troublethª° thee, tellª° me the visionsª of my dreamª that¹ I have seen,ª° and the interpretationª thereof. ... Thus [were] the visionsª of mine headª inª my bed;ª I saw,ªª°° and beholdª a treeª in the midstª of the earth,ª and the heightª thereof [was] great.ª" {Dan 4:9-10} + "There isª a manª in thy kingdom,ª in whom¹ [is] the spiritª of the holyª gods;ª and in the daysª of thy fatherª lightª and understandingª and wisdom,ª like the wisdomª of the gods,ª was foundª° in him; whom the kingª Nebuchadnezzarª thy father,ª the king,ª [I say], thy father,ª madeª° masterª of the magicians,ª astrologers,ª Chaldeans,ª [and] soothsayers;ª° ...
