{Ezekiel 46:1} Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the Lord 136 GOD; 3069 The gate 8179 of the inner 6442 court 2691 that looketh 6437 z8802 toward the east 6921 shall be x1961 shut 5462 z8803 the six 8337 working 4639 days; 3117 but on the sabbath 7676 3117 it shall be opened, 6605 z8735 and in the day 3117 of the new moon 2320 it shall be opened. 6605 z8735

Thus saith:
Whether the rules for public worship here laid down were designed to be observed in those things wherein they differed from the law of Moses, in the ministrations of the second temple, is not certain. In the latter history of the Jewish church, the law of Moses only was followed, except in the corruption of following the traditions of the fathers.

The gate:
The prophet had before observed that the east gate of the outer court was shut, and was told that it must only be opened for the prince; and now he is informed that the gate of the inner court on the east was also shut, and is to be opened only on the sabbath and new moons, till the evening.

shall be shut:
"Then he brought me backª °¹ the wayª of the gateª of the outwardª sanctuaryª which lookethª ° toward the east;ª and it¹ [was] shut.ª ° ... Then saidª ° the LORDª unto¹ me; This¹ gateª shall be¹ shut,ª ° it shall not¹ be opened,ª ° and no¹ manª shall enter² ° in¹ by it; because¹ the LORD,ª the Godª of Israel,ª hath entered² ° in¹ by it, therefore it shall be¹ shut.ª °" {Ezk 44:1-2}

six working:
"In the sweatª of thy faceª shalt thou eatª ° bread,ª tillª thou returnª ° unto¹ the ground;ª for¹ out of¹ it wast thou taken:ª ° for¹ dustª thouª [art], and unto¹ dustª shalt thou return.ª °" {Gen 3:19} + "Sixª daysª shalt thou labour,ª ° and doª ° all¹ thy work:ª" {Exd 20:9} + "Andª the¹ ruler of the synagogueª answeredª ° with indignation,ª ° becauseª that Jesusª had healedª ° on the¹ sabbath² day,¹ and saidª ° unto the¹ people,ª There areª ° sixª daysª inª whichª men oughtª ° to work:ª ° inª themª thereforeª comeª ° and¹ be healed,ª ° andª notª on the¹ sabbathª day.ª" {Lke 13:14}

on the sabbath:
"And it shall be¹ the prince's partª ¹ [to give] burnt offerings,ª and meat offerings,ª and drink offerings,ª in the feasts,ª and in the new moons,ª and in the sabbaths,ª in all¹ solemnitiesª of the houseª of Israel:ª he¹ shall prepareª °¹ the sin offering,ª and the meat offering,ª and the burnt offering,ª and the peace offerings,ª to make reconciliationª ° for¹ the houseª of Israel.ª" {Ezk 45:17} + "And it shall come to pass,¹ [that] fromª ¹ one new moonª to another,ª and fromª ¹ one sabbathª to another,ª shall all¹ fleshª comeª ° to worshipª ° beforeª me, saithª ° the LORD.ª" {Isa 66:23} + "There remainethª ° thereforeª a restª to the¹ peopleª of God.ª ...
