{Ezekiel 44:11} Yet they shall be x1961 ministers 8334 z8764 in my sanctuary, 4720 [having] charge 6486 at x413 the gates 8179 of the house, 1004 and ministering 8334 z8764 x853 to the house: 1004 they x1992 shall slay 7819 z8799 x853 the burnt offering 5930 and the sacrifice 2077 for the people, 5971 and they x1992 shall stand 5975 z8799 before 6440 them to minister 8334 z8763 unto them.

they shall be:
As few, if any, of those who, before the captivity, had been guilty in these respects, lived to witness the restoration of the temple service; and as it does not appear that their descendants were thus degraded for the idolatry of their ancestors; it is probable that a thorough reformation of the whole church, or the prevalence of pure religion among the converted Jews, is here predicted.

having charge:
"But I will makeª ° them keepersª ° of the chargeª of the house,ª for all¹ the serviceª thereof, and for all¹ that¹ shall be doneª ° therein." {Ezk 44:14} + "And he saidª ° unto¹ me, Thisª chamber,ª whose¹ prospectª [is] towardª the south,ª [is] for the priests,ª the keepersª ° of the chargeª of the house.ª" {Ezk 40:45} + "Concerning the divisionsª of the porters:ª Of the Korhitesª [was] Meshelemiahª the sonª of Kore,ª of¹ the sonsª of Asaph.ª ... These¹ [are] the divisionsª of the portersª among the sonsª of Kore,ª and among the sonsª of Merari.ª" {1Ch 26:1-19}

shall slay:
"But¹ the priestsª were¹ too few,ª so that they couldª ° not¹ flayª °¹ all¹ the burnt offerings:ª wherefore their brethrenª the Levitesª did helpª ° them, till¹ the workª was ended,ª ° and until¹ the [other] priestsª had sanctified² ° themselves:¹ for¹ the Levitesª [were] more uprightª in heartª to sanctify² ° themselves¹ than the priests.ª ¹" {2Ch 29:34} + "For¹ [there were] manyª in the congregationª that¹ were not¹ sanctified:ª ° therefore the Levitesª had the charge of¹ the killingª of the passoversª for every one¹ [that was] not¹ clean,ª to sanctifyª ° [them] unto the LORD.ª" {2Ch 30:17} + "So the serviceª was prepared,ª ° and the priestsª stoodª ° in¹ their place,ª and the Levitesª in¹ their courses,ª according to the king'sª commandment.ª ... and they:
"[Seemeth it but] a small thingª unto¹ you, that¹ the Godª of Israelª hath separatedª ° you from the congregationª ¹ of Israel,ª to bring you nearª °¹ to¹ himself to doª °¹ the serviceª of the tabernacleª of the LORD,ª and to standª ° beforeª the congregationª to ministerª ° unto them?" {Num 16:9} + "And I,¹ behold,¹ I have takenª °¹ your brethrenª the Levitesª from amongª ¹ the childrenª of Israel:ª to you [they are] givenª ° [as] a giftª for the LORD,ª to doª °¹ the serviceª of the tabernacleª of the congregation.ª" {Num 18:6}
