{Ezekiel 30:21} Son 1121 of man, 120 I have broken 7665 z8804 x853 the arm 2220 of Pharaoh 6547 king 4428 of Egypt; 4714 and, lo, x2009 it shall not x3808 be bound up 2280 z8795 to be healed, 7499 5414 z8800 to put 7760 z8800 a roller 2848 to bind 2280 z8800 it, to make it strong 2388 z8800 to hold 8610 z8800 the sword. 2719
Son of man:
This prophecy was delivered soon after the Egyptians under Pharaoh-hophra had come to relieve Jerusalem, and some months before the city was taken, being the eleventh year of Jeremiah's captivity, and answering to April 26, am 3416. When the king of Babylon took from the king of Egypt, in the days of Pharaoh-necho, all his dominions in Asia, one of his arms was broken. God now declared that he should never recover these territories, or gain any ascendancy in that part of the world; nay, that his other arm, which was now strong, should soon be broken, and rendered utterly useless. This was fulfilled when Hophra was dethroned and driven into Upper Egypt by Amasis; and then Nebuchadnezzar, taking advantage of this civil discord, invaded and conquered that kingdom, and enslaved, dispersed, and carried captive the Egyptians.
I have:
"And I will strengthenª°¹ the armsª of the kingª of Babylon,ª and putª°¹ my swordª in his hand:ª but I will breakª°¹ Pharaoh'sª arms,ª and he shall groanª° beforeª him with the groaningsª of a deadly woundedª [man]." {Ezk 30:24} + "Breakª° thou the armª of the wickedª and the evilª [man]: seek outª° his wickednessª [till] thou findª° none.ª" {Psa 10:15} + "For¹ the armsª of the wickedª shall be broken:ª° but the LORDª upholdethª° the righteous.ª" {Psa 37:17} + "The hornª of Moabª is cut off,ª° and his armª is broken,ª° saithª° the LORD.ª" {Jer 48:25}
it shall not:
"From the soleª¹ of the footª even unto¹ the headª [there is] no¹ soundnessª in it; [but] wounds,ª and bruises,ª and putrifyingª sores:ª they have not¹ been closed,ª° neither¹ bound up,ª° neither¹ mollifiedª° with ointment.ª" {Isa 1:6} + "[There is] none¹ to pleadª° thy cause,ª that thou mayest be bound up:ª thou hast no¹ healingª medicines.ª" {Jer 30:13} + "Go upª° into Gilead,ª and takeª° balm,ª O virgin,ª the daughterª of Egypt:ª in vainª shalt thou use manyª° medicines;ª [for] thou shalt not¹ be cured.ª" {Jer 46:11} + "Babylonª is suddenlyª fallenª° and destroyed:ª° howlª° for¹ her; takeª° balmª for her pain,ª if so be¹ she may be healed.ª° ... We would have healedª°¹ Babylon,ª but she is not¹ healed:ª° forsakeª° her, and let us go²°¹ every oneª into his own country:ª for¹ her judgmentª reachethª° unto¹ heaven,ª and is lifted upª° [even] to¹ the skies.ª" {Jer 51:8-9} + "Thou hast multipliedª° thy merchantsª° above the starsª¹ of heaven:ª the cankerwormª spoileth,ª° and flieth away.ª°" {Nah 3:16} + "Andª aª mightyª angelª took upª° a stoneª likeª a greatª millstone,ª andª castª° [it] intoª the¹ sea,ª saying,ª° Thusª with violenceª shall²° that greatª cityª Babylonª be thrown down,ª° andª shall be foundª° no more² at all.ª¹" {Rev 18:21}
