I will stretch:
These predictions against the Philistines, Edomites, and others, seem to have been fulfilled by by Nebuchadnezzar during the siege of Tyre. Berosus states that he subdued Syria, Arabia, Phoenicia, and Egypt; and now their very names have no existence, except in history. "Behold,¹ therefore¹ I will stretch outª °¹ mine handª upon¹ thee, and will deliverª ° thee for a spoilª °² to the heathen;ª and I will cut thee offª ° from¹ the people,ª and I will cause thee to perishª ° out of¹ the countries:ª I will destroyª ° thee; and thou shalt knowª ° that¹ I¹ [am] the LORD.ª" {Ezk 25:7} + "Therefore¹ thus¹ saithª ° the Lordª GOD;ª I will also stretch outª ° mine handª upon¹ Edom,ª and will cut offª ° manª and beastª from¹ it; and I will makeª ° it desolateª from Teman;ª ¹ and they of Dedanª shall fallª ° by the sword.ª" {Ezk 25:13}
