Forbear to cry:
Heb. Be silent, "Restª ° in the LORD,ª and wait patientlyª ° for him: fret² ° not thyself¹ ¹ because of him who prosperethª ° in his way,ª because of the manª who bringeth² ° wicked devices² to pass.ª °¹" {Psa 37:7} *marg. the bread of men:
Lechem anoshim not "the bread of mourners," as some render, but "the bread of other men," i.e., such as was commonly sent to mourners on such occasions by their friends. "Neither¹ shall [men] tearª ° [themselves] for them in¹ mourning,ª to comfortª ° them for¹ the dead;ª ° neither¹ shall [men] give them the cupª of consolationª to drinkª ° for¹ their fatherª or for¹ their mother.ª" {Jer 16:7}
