Hananiah:
"That frustratethª ° the tokensª of the liars,ª and maketh diviners² ° mad;ª °¹ that turnethª ° wiseª [men] backward,ª and maketh their knowledge² foolish;ª °¹ ... That confirmethª ° the wordª of his servant,ª and performethª ° the counselª of his messengers;ª that saithª ° to Jerusalem,ª Thou shalt be inhabited;ª ° and to the citiesª of Judah,ª Ye shall be built,ª ° and I will raise upª ° the decayed placesª thereof:" {Isa 44:25-26} + "But¹ my wordsª and my statutes,ª which¹ I commandedª °¹ my servantsª the prophets,ª did they not¹ take holdª ° of your fathers?ª and they returnedª ° and said,ª ° Like as¹ the LORDª of hostsª thoughtª ° to doª ° unto us, according to our ways,ª and according to our doings,ª so¹ hath he dealtª ° with¹ us." {Zch 1:6}

the seventh month:
The prophecy was delivered in the fifth month ("Now these¹ [are] the wordsª of the letterª that¹ Jeremiahª the prophetª sentª ° from Jerusalemª ¹ unto¹ the residueª of the eldersª which were carried away captives,ª and to¹ the priests,ª and to¹ the prophets,ª and to¹ all¹ the peopleª whom¹ Nebuchadnezzarª had carried away captiveª ° from Jerusalemª ¹ to Babylon;ª" {Jer 29:1}), and Hananiah died in the seventh month; exactly two months after he had delivered his false prophecy, which he declared, in the name of God, would be fulfilled in two years. Here then the true prophet was demonstrated, and the false prophet detected. The death of Hananiah, thus predicted, was God's seal to the words of His prophet, and must have gained his other predictions great credit among the people; though it is evident that it did not induce them to forsake their sins and return to the God of Israel.
